Luang Prabang part 1

After 2 days of slowboating the Mekong river, we arrived at Luang Prabang. It's an amazing city with a daily night market (lots of street food and clothes). With a few exceptions, all buildings are restricted in height to 2 floors.

The day after arrival, we visited the ethnology museum. The Akha, (H)mong and the Kmhmu are 3 etnic groups in Laos. We've been told that the (H)mong even originate from Alaska.
In the afternoon, time was made to visit a local village. We were asked to participate in a ceremony and received many blessings. They put a cotton strings on your wrist for each blessing. I'm not sue what I got blessed for, but if any of those are related to getting married and having a bunch of children ... well I better get moving! 😅

Later that afternoon we went to see the Kuang Si Waterfalls, where we also went to swim a bit.
